Context

Inovenow is a consulting firm with government contracts across Brazil, focusing on acceleration and mentorship programs for startups. Traditionally, they managed these programs using Excel, Gmail, Trello, and other manual tools, supporting around 30-40 startups at a time. However, as the firm grew, they needed a more scalable solution to meet the increasing demand. The platform was created to enable Inovenow to serve more startups efficiently.

Challenge

Despite the new platform, both contractors (government clients) and the internal team faced significant difficulties in setting up and managing educational programs. The main issue was the complexity of the onboarding and program setup process. The number of steps and the overall user experience hindered their ability to scale the platform and deliver programs effectively.

My Role

As the lead designer, I spearheaded a project to redesign the main workflow for onboarding and setting up educational programs within the platform. I focused on simplifying the process, improving the user experience, and streamlining tasks to ensure that both the contractors and internal teams could easily create and manage programs.

Results

• Increased scalability: Inovenow could scale its operations and onboard more startups than ever. The platform could now support up to 200 startups in a single program, and run multiple programs that have impacted more than 10k people around Brazil, a significant improvement over the previous 30-40.

• Enhanced user retention: Simplifying the workflow contributed to a smoother user experience, which led to better retention rates for contractors and program managers.

• Faster onboarding: With the new streamlined workflow, users could onboard faster and more efficiently, enabling quicker program setups and smoother execution.

• Improved operational efficiency: The redesign allowed for more streamlined internal processes, reducing the time and effort required for each new program setup.
